Day 2
Monday, November 21 We had a hearty breakfast at our hotel and then left for our 5+ hour drive to Quebec. Here’s the bridge over the St. Lawrence as you enter Quebec City. It snowed off and on, but the drive was uneventful until we actually got to the street where our hotel was. There was a pile of snow where we could park to unload, so we ended up half in the street slogging through snow with our bags. We checked in and then parked the car at the nearby car park — took a minute to figure out where to insert the card given to us by the hotel. Our suite was beautiful but had a major drawback — a full flight of snow-covered METAL stairs OUTSIDE before we reached the entry to the room. After a tearful discussion with the manager about changing rooms, we decided to stay in the suite — they would make sure the steps were cleared and de-iced for us.
